Purpose and fields of work
All activitiesThe purpose of the association and the activities it carries out to that end are set out in Articles 2 and 3 of its Statutes. Work is conducted in the following areas.
Wider use of institutional arbitration
Working with the Department of Arbitration of the Ministry of Justice, the Insurance Arbitration Commission, the Istanbul Arbitration Centre and other arbitral institutions to broaden the use of arbitration and strengthen confidence in it.
Türkiye as a seat of arbitration
Promoting the choice of Türkiye as the seat of arbitration, and of Turkish law as the law applicable to the merits, in disputes with a foreign element.
Solidarity among arbitrators
Fostering mutual assistance and solidarity among arbitrators and protecting their rights and interests.
Scholarship and publishing
Supporting scholarly research in arbitration, compiling and publishing statistics, and producing bulletins, guidance and books.
International cooperation
Establishing cooperation with institutions and professional bodies active in arbitration, including the ICC, ISTAC, VIAC, LCIA, ICCA and CIArb.

See allFirst General Assembly held
The first general assembly of the association was held at its seat in Ankara on 10 October 2026. The full and substitute members of the board, the audit committee and the disciplinary committee were elected and the estimated budget was adopted.

The Turkish Arbitrators Association has been founded in Ankara to contribute to the development of arbitration in Türkiye and to raise the professional standards of arbitrators.

Membership
Individual arbitrators listed on the panel of an institutional arbitration centre, or who have served as arbitrator in at least one arbitration, may apply for full membership. The board decides on applications within thirty days at the latest.
